When most of us think of travel, we imagine going to exotic locations outside our own countries. In the United States, one of the most popular and affordable ways to travel outside the country is to cruise. Another thing many people do, if money is not a huge issue, is book a couple of weeks in an exotic locale very far away, such as Fiji or somewhere in the Orient. But with air travel prices increasing daily as the cost of fuel continues to soar, there are just as many people who, in the US, have decided to skip the ocean liners and air fare, and tour their own enormous country by car, RV, or bus. With so many miles of beautiful country in our land, and so many of the world’s greatest cities and natural wonders right here on domestic soil, touring the United States of America doesn’t have to be something you wait until old age to do.
Among the top tourist destinations in the US are:
Times Square in the heart of bustling New York City. This place features huge advertisement signs, mostly digital nowadays, and access to the nation’s top Broadway shows as well as several sporting attractions and world class shopping. Once you arrive, park your car until time to go home because there is hardly any place to park once you start driving around. You’ll be better off taking foot tours, riding a bike or a bus, or if you are really brave, hailing a cab.
Another fun place to visit is Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston Massachusetts. The shopping here draws millions of tourists from the US and abroad yearly, making this one of the most popular tourist destinations in North America. About 20 million visitors pass through this complex annually that really incluldes four historic places in one central location: Faneuil Hall, North Market and South Market, and the famous Quincy Market are all right here. You will enjoy the quaint cobblestone promenade filled with magicians, jugglers, and musical performers who entertain the many visitors. With over a hundred places to stop in for a quick or leisurely meal and to shop, you will be very glad you made this a priority.
For people who love the scenic beauty of nature, a trip to Yosimite National Park, the Grand Canyon, or the beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore can be restorative to the soul. The Cape Cod National Seashore is made up of beautiful beaches that stretch out for miles. It’s historical appeal will make this a place you will want to relax at and spend some time.
